AI-Safe Watermarks
Understanding Random-Pixel Watermarks
Digital watermarks are semi-transparent patterns or grids placed over your images to protect them from theft or misuse. They make it difficult or impossible for others to use your photos without leaving visible traces.
All my watermarks are random-pixel watermarks — unique digital noise patterns created through dozens of random-generation rounds. Each one is one of a kind and built to resist removal attempts from AI or software tools.
Because they’re the only type that still works reliably. Traditional text grids or logos can be detected and cleaned by AI in seconds, but random-pixel patterns confuse removal algorithms and force visible artefacts or blurring.
Sometimes in parts, but rarely cleanly or fully automatic. The layered geometry and random noise often aren’t recognised as one element, so removers leave artefacts and watermark fragments or create blurred and distorted patches where they tried to fill the gaps.
Correctly applied, these watermarks make thieves work hard for their theft — usually too much effort to be worth it.
Using Watermarks Effectively
I offer two main types:
- Ready-to-use watermarks (download immediately)
- Custom watermarks (made to order)
→ Either a word grid based on your chosen text, or derived from your logo or image.
Every watermark is a random-pixel watermark.
Random-pixel watermarks perform best on detailed photos and artworks — images with texture, contrast, or natural variation.
On flat or single-colour backgrounds, even these advanced patterns can sometimes be detected and removed automatically.
That’s normal and one of the reasons why no watermark type is 100 % foolproof — but on detailed visuals, the pattern blends in and becomes almost impossible to isolate.
For the strongest effect, place your watermark over complex or important parts of the image – areas that AI tools still struggle to recreate convincingly.
Think of faces, hands, lettering, oddly crossing lines or irregular textures such as rock, foliage, or brushstrokes.
Avoid empty skies or plain backgrounds, as they’re easy for software to fill in automatically. A watermark across meaningful structure makes removal attempts much more visible.
No — that’s not necessary. Random-pixel watermarks are inherently visible on both light and dark surfaces.
On very busy or greyish images, parts of the pattern may appear invisible from a distance, but that’s by design — no colour adjustment needed.
No, sorry — it’s not possible. A preview would mean giving away the watermark itself, and that would defeat its purpose.
Each file is delivered exactly as described in the listing and can be applied to your images using any photo editor.
Files, Application & Usage Rights
No. Each watermark is sold as-is, exactly as listed.
The only exception: if I made a mistake when creating a custom watermark, I’ll of course correct it free of charge.
All watermarks are delivered as high-resolution PNG files (3500 px edge length) with a transparent background.
You can use them in any image editor — Photoshop, GIMP, Affinity, Photopea, or similar — as a semi-transparent overlay.
Yes — you can use them to protect your own photos, artworks, or digital creations, including commercial ones.
However, redistribution or resale of the watermark file itself or parts of the file is strictly prohibited.
No. Digital files are non-refundable once downloaded.
Custom orders are also excluded from withdrawal once I start producing them.
If a file doesn’t match the description or fails to open, please contact me and I’ll fix the issue.

About AI-Safe Watermarks & Wander Wit Treasures
All watermarks are created by Wander Wit Treasures, a small creative studio run by a hiking enthusiast who also designs keepsakes and digital tools for outdoor people. Each watermark is generated and reviewed manually to ensure it meets the right balance of protection and subtlety.
Because protecting creative work is part of the same idea — keeping your memories and creations safe.
Wander Wit Treasures started with hiking-inspired keepsakes, but the watermark section grew from a personal need to protect trail photography and digital art from AI-based theft.
